The Importance of Diversity β‘
I am a firm believer in being proactive rather than reactive. The fall of my senior year at SCAD, I saw the opportunity to start the conversation about diversity in the workplace. Thus, Ladies in tech was born. We had some great discussions around workplace culture to asking for a raise. If I were to leave anything behind at SCAD, I knew I wanted it to be this. After a short year, the club has about 40 members. I wrote a Medium article for the full story behind Ladies in Tech. Check it out here!

Teamwork makes the dream work π
βSCAD StartUp is an annual, week-long design sprint hosted by FLUX - the UX club in collaboration with SCADpro. I have been a participant in StartUp 2x as an underclassman. Senior year, I was the Communications Coordinator for StartUp. At SCAD, collaboration is a large part of the curriculum. This roll took my leadership and collaboration skills to the test.

I take playlists seriously π€
Being a visual designer, I wanted to use my other senses creatively. I challenged myself to create a new 10 song weekly playlist for a year.
I laid down some rules for myself:
- 10 songs I have never heard before, no stockpiling
- Create the cover art weekly
- No repetition of artist in a playlist
- Release playlist every Friday
Check out the playlist here

Do the right thing π
βWhen COVID-19 hit, my first thought was how can I do the right thing? Designers were put in an interesting position to show where their priorities lie. I stumbled upon Dining at a Distance, platform for people to find updated information on local restaurants. I come from 2 small business owners. I knew the financial impact of COVID-19 was going to be massive.
One of my favorite things about Savannah is the local business scene. I quickly signed up to be the curator for Savannah, GA.
